Most-Favored-Nation Drug Pricing Update: Regeneron Agreement and Observations on New Drug Pricing

IPD Analytics has released a new report, “Most-Favored-Nation Drug Pricing Update: Regeneron Agreement and Observations on New Drug Pricing.” On April 23, 2026, Regeneron reached a “most-favored-nation” (MFN) pricing agreement with the Trump administration, as the last among 17 manufacturers that the White House says represent 86% of the branded drug market. The analysis examines the latest MFN developments, including the FDA’s accelerated approval of Regeneron’s Otarmeni for genetic hearing loss, announced in conjunction with the agreement.

Despite the breadth of these agreements, measurable impacts on drug costs remain elusive. States and Medicaid plans have yet to report meaningful price reductions, and newly launched products from GSK and Merck continue to enter the U.S. market at prices significantly higher than their global counterparts. Our analysis explores what these findings mean for managed care stakeholders and what to watch as the administration moves to extend MFN agreements to smaller manufacturers and pursue congressional codification of agreement terms.
