Drug Pipeline Report 2H 2026
July 2026

IPD Analytics has released a new report: "Drug Pipeline Report for 2H 2026."
With 43 high-impact drugs nearing potential FDA approval over the next 12 months, the 2H 2026 pipeline carries significant implications for payers, providers, and manufacturers alike. 27% of pipeline drugs target neurology indications, including therapies for myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy, narcolepsy, and Parkinson's disease. 42% are designated for rare diseases, 81% are classified as specialty drugs, and 30% are associated with an emerging biomarker. Nearly 50% of therapies are projected to carry an annual or per-treatment cost exceeding $300,000, with three potentially reaching $3 million or more. From a benefit design standpoint, 65% are expected to fall under the pharmacy benefit and 26% under the medical benefit.
For payers, proactive planning is essential. This report is designed to support P&T committee reviews, coverage policy updates, and management strategy adjustments before these therapies hit the market.
